MissionsSt. John’s is supportive of local, national, and international missions. The mission outreach team’s goal is to determine the needs of local and worldwide missions and then to assist them. Current projects include collecting school supplies for children in the First UCC Church of Joliet who are not able to afford them, and sending 1000 bibles to the churches in Africa. Throughout the year, missions support many local and worldwide missions including Relay for Life fight against cancer, Fish, Groundworks, Lambsfold, Morningstar Mission, Lifelink, and many others. A detailed list of our mission activities is provided below. Current mission projects include:
In our local community, we host a blood drive in September and are sponsors and participants of the Lincoln-Way Relay for Life in June. Nationally, we have mission trips planned to Emmaus and Back Bay, and we send funds for disaster relief.
