MUSIC & WORSHIP

Praising God Through Music, Song and Drama

Handbell Ringers

This all-volunteer adult ensemble performs approximately once a month, October through April, at both services.  The handbells rehearse on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Previous musical experience is needed to join this group.  For more information contact the Music Director via the church office.

Instrumental Music

Instrumental music is a significant part of our worship, especially during the holidays, and at our more contemporary 9:45 service. We also add short dramatic skits from time to time to enhance the creativity of our worship. Performers of all ages who have an interest or passion for musical worship are invited to contact our Music Director so we can put your talents to work in one of our dynamic worship experiences.

Music for Youth

St. Johns encourages and enjoys spotlighting younger musical talent. Children from pre-school through college have opportunities to perform several times a year, especially during the holidays, or by special request and invitation. For more information, please contact our Music Director or directors of children’s and youth ministries via the church office.

Adult Choir

This mixed-voiced, all-volunteer ensemble sings at the 9:45 a.m. worship service on most Sundays from September through May.  The choir rehearses on Thursdays evenings at 7 p.m.  From time-to-time, this mixed-voice ensemble splits into Men's Chorus and Women's Chorus.

The Adult Choir is directed by St. John's Music Director, Michael Wolniakowski.  New singers are welcome to join the choir.  Previous choral or musical experience is helpful, but not required.  For more information, contact the Music Director via the church office.

Drama

St. John's occasionally uses short dramatic skits as part of its worship service to enhance creativity and provide new meaning to more traditional messages. Paticipants of all ages who have an interest or passion for dramatic performance are invited to contact our Music Director so we can introduce your talents into our ongoing and dynamic worship experience.
